Back from Abroad!

Hey all. I'm back from a wonderful (and much-needed) post-Bar trip, backpacking in northern Spain. Unfortunately, my start date at work got moved up, and I started this past Monday after having gotten in on Saturday. I plan to resume posting after I get settled in at work. I know I don't really owe any posts to anyone, but I thought putting that resolution on the blog would make me accountable.

With that, I leave you with a picture of the most glorious thing I saw there: La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's unfinished masterpiece of a cathedral in Barcelona. It is amazing in person. It was started in the 1880s and won't be finished until 2030 or so - which is nothing when you think about Gothic cathedrals and how long they took to complete, really.

First Breath After Coma

Back. The move is over, the Bar is over, the post-Bar excess and recovery is over. The clerkship starts soon-ish.

There have been beautiful figs from Pontotoc Ridge Blueberry Farm, fresh chevre from Bonnie Blue Farm, honey from The Apiaries of Bill and Joyce Hughes, and cracked black pepper.

Also crisp lemon cucumbers, from Ly Vu Produce, and sea salt.

Finally, there's this:

Jessica and I are headed to Spain, y'all. We'll be in Barcelona, Huesca, Pamplona, San Sebastian, Bilbao and Madrid. While there, we'll meet up with our friend Erin, who is currently backpacking the country. I can't wait to eat amazing food (baby eels, anyone?), see breathtaking sights, and generally not have any responsibilities for a little while. No clue what the internet situation will be like, but I anticipate at least a couple updates, and if I can't figure out how to post pics from over there, there will be pics when I return!
